About the Artist
Miguel Vega came here from Cuba 11 years ago. He studied as an apprentice to some of the best artesian iron fabricators and blacksmiths in Cuba. Escaping from artistic and economic repression, Miguel left Cuba for the United States. Here he worked with some of the better known fabricators, artists, and designers within the Sacramento ornamental iron industry.
I, Claudia Sainz, have also worked in Sacramento's ornamental iron industry for the past ten years. It was here where I gained vast experience and knowledge in the design and fabrication stages of the business. We are grateful to the industry for the great traits that it has shared with us, and now, we are here to share them with you.
We design and fabricate all of our own work as well as in conjunction with other designers and architects. We hand forge the majority of our components, and our work is done with the best of quality in mind. We customize curtain rods, tables, mirrors, candle holders, bed frames, pot racks, trellises, gazebos, arbors, gates, stair rails, and just about anything that you can imagine.
